I had a great weekend visiting everyone on Satuday night.

We survived the ice storm, I worked over night Monday, got off work at 6 a.m. to  find the truck in the "ice shell" we all love. Surprisingly, the roads were not that bad. Our neighbors to the south got hit a lot worse than we did.

Hook's planning a weekend with the guys, driving to Kansas City to watch a game. He's still having a hard time being out and about for more than a few hours at a time....but he's going to try.

He'll come back a hurting puppy.

You're in traffic, irritated, trying to get to where you need to go ...

The radio blasts an old familiar tune, you reach for the volume control....turn it up, REAL LOUD ...and it takes you back to that time, that place, those memories.......

As I prepare to go to work tonight, breaking news on local stations are covering a tragic, unbelievable story.

I man opened fire in one of Omaha's busy malls. Nine are confirmed dead, 4 injured. Details are still coming in.

We all live with the idea we are basically safe. Things like this don't happen so close to home.

I have no idea if this has anything to do with President Bush being in Omaha today. That's just my imagination running wild.

As I drive to work tonight I will make sure my doors are locked. I will have a sinking feeling in my stomach. I will feel ...afraid.

I'm in shock.

I'm posting a little late, but this is to all my buddies!!

Things are slowly getting back to normal.

Hook saw his surgeon yesterday and they removed his chest tube...how enjoyable, he can shower and he has been released from his unsightly "man purse" that he was attached to for the past 9 days. He will see the doctor again next Tuesday for another chest x-ray.

He's feeling much better.

I'm getting ready for the holidays, cleaning closets, moving things around. I have 5 trash bags of unwanted items ready for the Goodwill.

Who needs 46 pairs of black dress pants?? How about 74 bras?? Yep, I'm ashamed to say I have accumualted a vast amount of crapola.

Is there a 12 step program for that...Crapola Gatherers Anonymous?

 I am not only a member, I am the president.

We are expecting a dreadful weekend here, snow, sleet, ice, rain. Sounds like it'll be a relaxing weekend of being shut in.
