The river was great. 

A few things I realized when I was away.....

1) We are old people. The conversations we shared revolved around our medications, how "regular" we are, and how many years until we retire.

 2) Everyone was in bed by midnight and up before dawn, another sign of old age.

3) You can't get romantic in the back seat anymore, even in a full size pick-up...nuff said about that. Ten points for trying though....at "our age."

4) Someone over 50 should not sleep on the top bunk, that first step is a doosey!! Poor Benji.

5) It's good to be home!!!

We arrived home yesterday, what a trip!!

Hook made many friends....

A fake Michael Jackson.

His new friends from Austin, Texas.

His delightful friend from South Africa.

Some young chicks that found him "intoxicating."

One girl found him tasty.

Some people from Lincoln, Nebraska he picked up at the airport that came with us to Vegas.

A little strip poker?

Yep....this is how I viewed the whole thing!!

Let me get the suitcase unpacked, clothes washed, we're off again this weekend.

I don't think I can take anymore!!

We have been extremely busy this summer, so many things at the house have needed attention.

Small things, but slowly they are piling up.

 

With Hook being gone he can only accomplish one or two things a month.

I know he reads my blog when he gets home so honey....here's your list!!

The toilet.

It's possessed. It runs, it sprays water, it floods the bathroom. I'm afraid to sit on it. I think it is an evil spirit.

The gutter on the front of the house has come loose.

You can wait on this one for a while, if I park my truck just right, it gets a nice rinsing off so I don't have to wash it.

The dryer duct.

One hundred spools of duct tape and it still comes loose, I'm thinking replacement may be in order...but that's just me.

The light by the back door.

I know you had good intentions with this one, you've already purchased the replacement...I've moved it daily because it sits on the kitchen counter.

The shower stopper.

I don't know what's up with that but we continue to act like it's normal when it makes that groaning noise like the plumbing is going to explode.

Sealing the cement behind the front garage.

Again, if I park my truck just right in the garage, it gets rinsed off nicely..it's like having an indoor car wash.

I'm sure if Hook were to sit down, he could think of a list twice as long for me...

but we ain't talkin' about that right now.

I'm trying to stay awake, another work week starts tomorrow. I can't believe I haven't been at the computer since Thursday....so not like me.

I'm exhausted.

After working 12 hour shifts on Wednesday and Thursday I managed to get a few hours sleep Friday morning. I had errands to run, company came over in the evening and stayed til 5:30 a.m.

I got a few more hours of sleep, but we needed to be at a birthday party Saturday at 1.....

Finally, Saturday afternoon I had a meltdown. I left the birthday party and came home. I embarrassed myself and hurt someone's feelings.

I've apologized since, but things are going to have to slow down here.

This week I will be preparing for our trip to Laughlin, Nevada.

We'll leave Saturday and return on Tuesday. I'm so looking forward to some quiet, alone time with just Hook and I.

We really need it.
