Just a few things going on here at the Nursey/Hook place.

We've still been getting storms, the tree in the back is slowly losing all of it's limbs..... I made a story, this limb broke last Friday when winds in the Omaha area reached over 115 miles per hour. It broke loose last night.

This past week the midwest was hit with several tornados.

We had branches down in the back.

The huge tree in back had large limbs snapped off, you can see them pointing towards the ground.

But...we still had time for another project!

Things are getting better, as I knew they would.

We started our summer projects. In the backyard we have a huge tree, it was surrounded at the base with railroad ties.

They had slowly rotted and pulled apart....

 Now it's beautiful!!

I know it's only months into 2008, but I just don't think this is going to be my year. I think the best year was 2003 a lot of good things happened that year. I'd have to dig deep into my memories to think of the all time best year.

The Des Moines trip went well. I have to admit I even liked the Doctor who Work Comp hired to lie. The great thing is...he admitted that day he would be ruling against the people who hired him.

 He turned out to be an honest man. 

He agreed there is nowhere else Hook's injuries could have came from but the initial collapsed lung he suffered in 12/2005.

So, with that said, we wait. The Doctor's report is done, we've read it and the lawyers have copies. I don't know if there are any more hoops Hook will need to jump through.

On Mother's Day I got news of my son in New Mexico, he is in jail for the 4th time. This time I think he will be facing a very harsh punishment. As a Mom, you can't even imagine what it is like to picture your child locked up like an animal. My son is very soft, prison life will be a daily struggle for him. My heart is heavy.

And so it goes on, 2008, the year of do do.

I'm sorry I just fell off the face of the earth, it's been almost 3 months since I've even logged on to Blogstream.

I'm suffering, I'm sad, I'm not myself.

Hook is still very sick. He can't work. Work Comp continues to fight which means he has not had an income since October. They denied paying for his surgery so the medical bills mount....financial devastation.

We've had to put all future plans, including our wedding on hold. Our house is in my name...they can't take it to pay his bills if we are not married.

He sees another Dr. on May 7th, a pain specialist in DesMoines. (A 2-3 hour drive.) His side is so sensitive and painful, to leave the house I have to wrap his chest in saran wrap.

We are hoping this will be the end of this nightmare.

The fight has left me. I'm pretty much in a daze, just going through the motions of daily living. I know it will get better, until then I'm just going breathe..in....out...in....out.
